So my first experience in cosplay was in Nipponbashi Street Festa March 2018 in Osaka, and I’ve cosplayed as 2B. It’s a street festival where you see cosplayers on the streets of Nipponbashi. It was an interesting experience to have, and I had the honor to see how Japanese cosplayers do their cosplay.

They’re extremely talented. You would see them dressed in costumes that they look they been bought, but actually it’s made by the cosplayer! Another interesting point is we weren’t allowed to walk in cosplay on the streets. So we had to walk to the changing tent that could hold hundreds of people changing their customs and putting on makeup.

I believe it is growing, each event you would meet a new cosplayer that would remind you of yourself when you got into cosplay, and you remember all you needed at that time is acceptance and support from cosplayers who been there before you.

I was fortunate enough to get that! So the sense of support is there to the new comers is there. However, when it comes to the events’ aspect is difficult, and it would take us a while to have huge events as they are being hold in Europe or East Asia.
